Samsung Star cellphone dedicated to Hello Kitty

Samsung has announced a new version of their Star cellphone, which will now be dedicated to the popular Hello Kitty.

This new version is called Samsung Star S5230 Hello Kitty Edition and obviously comes colored in pink. The technical specifications are the same as the original Star cellphone, which means the device has a 3.2-megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, MP4 Player, and the TouchWiz Interface.

At the moment the Hello Kitty cellphone from Samsung is available in Spain and Belgium.

Samsung Galaxy i7500 for Bell

Bell has announced their first Android phone which will be the Samsung Galaxy i7500, and is suppose to be launched on the 10th of December.

In case you are wondering about the specifications of the Galaxy i7500, it features a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen with a 5-megapixel camera that has LED flash. Other features include WiFi, GPS, a 7.2Mbps HSDPA connection, and 8GB of internal memory. All of this running on a 528MHz processor.

At this moment there is no confirmation about the version of the Android that will come with the Galaxy i7500 for Canda.

Samsung I900 Gets A Relative! (i8000)

The original Samsung Omnia i900 is rumoured to be getting a relative in the form of an i8000 Omnia 2, it will be running Windows Mobile like it’s predecessor the original Omnia. The new handset will feature an impressive 8.1Mp camera as well as a new feature rumoured to be present on the device. A 3d cube like widget is thought to be on the device which allows you to select music, pictures and other applications from a 3D cube on the screen. It is not know whether this is part of the Touch Wiz UI or a standalone widget?

The screen is said to be a 3.7″ AMOLED driven WVGA display, 30fps video and dual LED flash. The screen can handle 16 million colors however windows mobile is known to only support 65k, keep peeled for a possible official announcement on June 15th?

Nokia launches first phone based on China 3G standard

Some of you may not be aware that China is unique when it comes to 3G technology. Specifically, China developed their own domestic 3G standard which has to be an absolute joy for mobile phone manufacturers since they have yet another 3G standard to develop a handset around.

Nokia, being the team player they are, stepped up to the challenge and has announced its first device for China’s 3G standard (TD-SCDMA). This week at a Beijing launch event the company revealed the Nokia 6788, which was was developed in partnership with the country’s largest mobile phone operator, China Mobile. The phone is expected to be available by the end of the year.

I could go into some of the specifics of the phone such as the five mega-pixel camera or its Symbian S60 operating system, but at the end of the day if you don’t live in China you will never see this phone. And it’s too bad because it looks like a nice enough handset.
